FAQ
What is the difference between the Original and OV2 model and why does the OV2 cost more than the Original did?
The Original model was aptly named as such because it was our very first pickup design over a decade ago. Throughout that decade, we never raised the price of our Original model. Markets change, and our costs increase as does inflation.
Fast forward to 2018 when we re-introduced the Original model as the OV2 (Original Version 2.0). With the increase in price comes an increase in value. We've spent years researching design elements to decrease feedback while increasing output and tone. The OV2 may look similar to the Original model, but it's been redesigned from the ground up. We've created new methods of construction to insure that the piezo transducer element is not susceptible to corrosion and has the proper level of strain relief. In an effort to further eliminate feedback, we've upgraded the cable to a design that drastically cuts down on micro phonics. Our new cable also includes a braided shield to eliminate buzz and RF noise often found in today's venues and clubs. All of this equals a pickup that will last you a lifetime with proper care. And in the slight chance that your pickup does develop an issue, we've extended our one year warranty to a lifetime warranty. No questions asked! Just send it back and we'll repair or replace it free of charge!
Why didn't I hear anything about you guys for a few years?
Life caught up with us and we took a few years off to focus on the development of our vintage recording studio, Custom Recording Co. We built a fully functioning recording studio 30 miles south of Chicago based on the equipment and technology of the 1950's! Please take a look at our website and if you're ever in the area, give us a ring - we'd love to show you around! Since completing the studio, we're so excited to continue the Six Rounds legacy of providing quality products for the upright bassist!
Where did the name "Six Rounds Sound" come from?
We liken our products to an old cowboy six shooter. Elegant but bold; ready to take on any challenge that comes its way without the threat of malfunction.
